The EUSBSR Policy Area Innovation Steering Group convened in Warsaw on Wednesday, March 19, bringing together key stakeholders to strengthen innovation collaboration across the Baltic Sea Region. Hosted by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education during Poland’s 2024-2025 presidency of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR),the meeting saw strong engagement from Polish stakeholders, particularly from the country’s dynamic start-up and innovation ecosystem.

The Steering group meeting covered several important topics shaping the future of innovation cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region, including the ongoing EUSBSR Action Plan update process. Participants also shared innovation insights from across the region, highlighting best practices and emerging trends in different countries. Another key theme was SME-focused projects, with presentations on two initiatives—BSR Go-Abroad and Bridging4Growth—designed to help companies and start-ups from the Central Baltic area expand internationally.

Polish innovation leadership and success stories were also a key focus, providing valuable inspiration and ideas for future innovation cooperation. Participants had the opportunity to engage with leading Polish innovation stakeholders, gaining insights into best practices, emerging trends, and opportunities for collaboration. The meeting served as an excellent platform for knowledge exchange and networking, fostering discussions that will help shape future innovation initiatives across the Baltic Sea Region.
