Year 2024 has been an active and rewarding year for EUSBSR PA Innovation, which is coordinated by the Baltic Institute of Finland, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland.

Some of the Key Achievements of 2024:

  •  New core projects approved: Six new core projects were approved in the 3rd call of #InterregBSR, bringing the total to 26 ongoing projects supported by PA INNO, engaging over 350 innovation stakeholders.
  • Bilateral support for project development: PA Innovation played a key role in supporting various project developers in the 1st IBSR call for project platforms, including our own initiative, Sustainability Upskill.
  • Platform project proposal: PA Innovation, led by PAC Finland, initiated a platform project proposal in the IBSR call. This initiative, synthesizing strengths from projects like SusTool, We Make Transition!, and BlueBioClusters, aims to help SMEs in the Baltic Sea Region adapt to evolving sustainability requirements while fostering innovation and collaboration in the blue economy.
  • EU-wide initiatives: Beyond the Interreg programs, PA Inovation led by PAC Estonia actively contributed to multiple EU-level innovation efforts, including eWallet (Digital Europe) and eFTI4All & eFTI4Live (CEF) for cross-border digital transformation.
  • Strengthening cross-MRS collaboration: Through projects like SMART ERA (Horizon Europe), we contributed to smart rural transitions, fostering synergies across macro-regional strategies.
  • Advancing decarbonization and sustainable cities: We launched the Collaborative BSR Decarbonization Initiative and kicked off the City Blues project, emphasizing sustainable urban development.
  •  Enhancing BSR-Ukraine innovation cooperation: A major highlight of 2024 was hosting a key innovation cooperation event in Warsaw, reinforcing ties between the Baltic Sea Region and Ukraine.

We want to thank all our partners, project developers, and stakeholders for their contributions to making 2024 a successful year. In 2025, we look forward to continuing our collaboration, strengthening innovation networks, and advancing sustainable solutions across the Baltic Sea Region.
