VBN INNOREG - PARTNERS IN SOUTH OSTROBOTHNIA (FINLAND)

Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia

The Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia is a federation of 26 municipalities, and has 194 000 inhabitants. The aim of the Council is a competitive region of cooperation, renowned for high-level education, know-how, welfare and entrepreneurship.

In the VBN InnoReg project the Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia is responsible for organizing training events and workshops for RIS actors in its region. The Council participates also in conducting the RIS analysis in Seinäjoki region in cooperation with the Seinäjoki Technology Centre.

Seinäjoki Technology Centre Ltd.

The Seinäjoki Technology Centre was founded in 2000, and is owned by the City of Seinäjoki, the Seinäjoki Polytechnic, and the Foundation of the Tampere University of Technology. The aim of the Technology Centre is to increase the attractiveness of the Seinäjoki region for businesses and experts, and to develop the business activities of starting and functioning technology enterprises.

In the VBN InnoReg project the Seinäjoki Technology Centre is responsible for coordinating the RIS analysis in Seinäjoki region and implementing a pilot project that aims at developing collaboration between various actors in the regional innovation chain. In addition the Technology Centre participates in local training events and workshops, and produces a guidebook based on its work.
