The Podlaskie Voivodeship consists of 17 municipalities and has 1,2 million inhabitants. The Podlaskie Voivodeship Marshal’s Office is a self-governmental administration unit of the Podlaskie voivodeship. The Voivodeship Marshal is the head of the Office and official supervisor of officials and managers of self-governmental administration units of the voivodeship.
In the VBN InnoReg project the Podlaskie Voivodeship Marshal’s Office is responsible for developing the concept of organizing Inter-university Research Centre for Supporting Innovative Projects Development that will support the development of RIS through the assistance in studies on market opportunities, seeking proposals for and assessing innovative projects. The Marhsal’s Office will also organize regional training events and workshops in cooperation with the University of Bialystok.
The University of Bialystok was founded in 1997 from the Branch of the Warsaw University. The University of Bialystok has experience in leading the Regional Innovation Strategy project in Podlaskie region.
In the VBN InnoReg project the University of Bialystok is responsible for conducting RIS analysis in Podlaskie region by utilizing the existing Regional Innovation Strategy as well as organising training events and workshops for RIS actors.
