The objective of the VBN joint innovation strategy is to promote sustainable economic development, innovativeness and competitiveness in the VBN macro region through interregional cooperation in the framework of RIS development.
In the VBN strategy, the RIS analyses produced by the partner regions during VBN InnoReg project will be combined and a synthesis will be provided based on common understanding of development needs, challenges, and preconditions as well as transnational/interregional cooperation that will foster the competitiveness of the VBN zone. As Consultant Kimmo Viljamaa, Advansis OY, pointed out in Potsdam, the purpose of the synthesis is to give a strong basis for the future VBN cooperation. Therefore, the synthesis will include clear recommendations how the partner regions should collaborate and strengthen the commitment of key actors in the field of innovation promotion in future.
During the summer and autumn 2007, the project partners will complete their regional analyses and reports regarding the pilot projects. The VBN joint innovation approach will also be completed in the autumn 2007. |
