VBN InnoReg Final Seminar was organised in Kaunas
6-8 November 2007

Seminar "Innovation Approach for VBN Macro-Region" 7 November 2007

Seminar included:

- The introduction of the report VBN Joint Approach for Innovation Promotion. The report combines the regional innovation system analyses produced in the partner regions during the VBN InnoReg project and provides an outlook on common challenges and development needs. The report includes proposals for future collaboration in innovation promotion in the Baltic Sea region and a joint development vision for 2017. VBN Joint Approach for Innovation Promotion will serve as a basis for transnational collaboration in innovation promotion in the future.

- Presentation of regional innovation system action plans of partner regions


Mr. Kari Kankaala, City of Tampere, Mr.Vygintas Grinis, Kaunas City Municipal Administration, Mr. Kimmo Viljamaa, Advansis Ltd. and Mrs. Lina Kaminskiene, Kaunas Chamber of Commerce discussing the future of innovation promotion. 

- Presentation of pilot activities on innovation promotion tools implemented during VBN InnoReg

- Panel discussion on the future of innovation promotion in the Baltic Sea region with representatives of politics, regional development, universities, technology centres, and private sector.

- The introduction of regional innovation system of St. Petersburg and Interreg III B project SPb InnoReg - Promoting Regional Innovation System in St. Petersburg through Transnational Cooperation.

- Visits to KTU Regional Science Park and Kaunas Free Economic Zone

Working seminars for VBN InnoReg Project Partners
6 November and 8 November 2007

In the working seminars for project partners, the results of VBN InnoReg were presented and discussed. Follow-up activities were also prepared based on VBN Joint Approach for Innovation Promotion.

The final joint project event was hosted by Kaunas University of Technology and Technopolis.
