The objective of the project "Enhancing e-Government Development in St.Petersburg through Innovational Technological Cooperation" (e-St.Petersburg II) is to develop e-government actions in St.Petersburg. In its activities it utilises the results and co-operation model from the previous pilot project - eSt.Petersburg.
The project aims at developing public services of the City of St.Petersburg in a way that would correspond to the development and action plans of e-government activities in St.Petersburg as well as to the specific aims to utilise information technologies in providing citizens' services. One of the focus areas is to improve utilisation of the existing databases of basic utilising Finnish expertise in order to develop the e-identification system and related e-services.
Cooperation with Finnish experts can be used to make the governing activities of St.Petersburg more efficient, and improve the e-services offered to city inhabitants.
The project lasts from February 2006 until December 2007. It is financed by the Ministry for Transport and Communications of Finland and the city of St. Petersburg. The Baltic Institute of Finland acts as the coordinator of the project.
