Contact Visit, Tampere, 15-16 December, 2011
Contact
Visit for representatives of St Petersburg City Administration was organized on
15-16.12 in Tampere. The aim of the visit was to learn the way the Innovation
Strategy is implemented in Finland and how the framework for innovation
activities, especially cluster development, is built in this country. Members of
the delegation have met with main actors of the regional innovation system,
including Tampere University, City Administration, Regional Development
agencies.
PBC Nottbeck 6th session in Tampere, 15-17 December, 2011
On 15-17
th December has been held the 6
th and the last session on PBC Nottbeck
programme. In the premises of Edutech and the Baltic Institute of Finland the session has
covered the topics of the Knowledge Management, Information Systems and Business Information Management. Also on 16
th of December the Steering Comittee meeting took place . Member companies, Universities and representatives of the City of St. Petersburg have discussed programme's future plans.





PBC Nottbeck 5th session in Tampere, 27-28 October, 2011
The 5
th session on PBC Nottbeck
programme has been held on 27-28
th October in the premises of the
University of Tampere and the Baltic Institute of Finland. The session has
covered the Ethical Issues in Cross Cultural Business and Cross Cultural
Communication and Decision Making topics.

PBC Nottbeck 4th session in St. Petersburg, 8-10 September, 2011
The fourth
module of the PBC Nottbeck programme has been held on September 8-10, St
Petersburg. In addition to the lecturing organized by the St Petersburg
University of Economics and Finance, the module included a company visit and
meetings with local experts. The City Administration officials took part in the
discussions devoted to the development of the St Petersburg labour market.

Steering Committee meeting in
Tampere, 13 June, 2011
The second SC meeting was held in
the Baltic Institute of Finland 13 June, 2011. Report on activities in 2011
and continuation of the project, including the Nottbeck programme,
was discussed by the Steering Committee members. The next PSC
meeting will be organized in Tampere in the end of September
2011.

A delegation from the University of
Tampere and the Baltic Institute of Finland lead by Vice-rector Harri
Melin was met by high-level officials of the City of St
Petersburg and Administration of the St Petersburg University of Economics and
Finance. The ongoing
collaboration and upcoming projects
were discussed. Few companies
operating in St Petersburg were visited by the
delegation.


Contact Visit 30-31.5.2011, Tampere
A delegation from the Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, the St. Petersburg City, has visited Tampere. Collaboration opportunities were discussed with main actors of the regional innovation system, including government agencies, city administration, technoparks, universities and companies.

The third session of the PBC Nottbeck pilot programme took place in the University of Tampere and in Nokian Tyres premises. The session was focused on Strategic Competence Management and Ethical Issues in Cross Cultural Business. A site-visit and a bench-learning event was hosted by the Metso Company in Tampere.
PBC Nottbeck programme: Events in Winter-Spring 2011
First Session, 10.-12.2.2011
The Nottbeck Master's programme pilot was launched in Tampere (see agenda below). The programme is a part of the St Petersburg Business Campus project, and it is tailored for top-and mid-level managers of Finnish companies operating in St. Petersburg. Three universities are providing the programme: the University of Tampere, Tampere University of Technology and St Petersburg University of Economics and Finance.Agenda
Second Session, 24.-26.3.2011
The second session of the Nottbeck Master's programme pilot was held at St Petersburg University of Economics and Finance. A site visit to the Vodokanal company and a bench-learning event on logistics were conducted for Finnish companies operating in St Petersburg.
Study Tour in Finland, 7.4.2011
A delegation of parliamentarians and governmental representatives from the Leningrad Region is coming to Tampere for a study visit in order to meet eventual partners, establish new partnerships and identify joint cooperation initiatives. The central topics of their interest are to learn more about the local legislative process, to find out about cooperation opportunities and to learn about social issues with a special focus on the young.
Third Session, 5.-7.5-2011
The third session of the PBC Nottbeck pilot programme took place in the University of Tampere and in Nokian Tyres premises. Study Tour for innovative companies operating in St Petersburg was organized in Finland (Helsinki, Lappeenranta, Tampere) 27.10-4.11.2010
Main goal of the Study Tour was to introduce Finnish innovation system to the participants of the delegation, to provide a networking among relevant partners from Finland and St Petersburg. More than sixty representatives of companies operating in St Petersburg visited innovation actors of Finland, including universities, City Administrations, technology centres, leading companies, etc. In each organization a presentation, training was provided for the participants, see programme.See programme (pdf)(121.2 KB)

Work meeting on the Joint Programme for Finnish companies was discussed at a work meeting organized at the Baltic Institute of Finland. Finnish companies operating in St Petersburg, Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere took part in the discussions.

Joint programme for Finnish companies was discussed at a round table organized at the St Petersburg University of Economics and Finance. Finnish companies operating in St Petersburg, universities from Finland and St Petersburg, the City Resource Centre, Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, Fintra Russia and City Council of Rectors took part in the discussion. MBA programme will be launched in January 2011.

A workshop on Apprenticeship education was organized jointly with the Committee for Education, City of St Petersburg. Finnish Apprenticeship model was discussed by the City Administration, directors of vocational institutes and city employment officers. Practical steps on introduction of the apprenticeship contract to the city were negotiated. A vocational institute was visited by representatives of Finnish companies.

Establishment of a joint programme for Finnish companies was discussed at a round table organized at the St Petersburg City Legislative Assembly. Finnish companies operating in St Petersburg, universities from Finland and St Petersburg, University of Economics and Finance, Committee for Higher Educations and Science, Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade as well as City Council of Rectors took part in the discussion.

A workshop on Apprenticeship education was organized jointly with the Committee for Education, City of St Petersburg. Finnish Apprenticeship model was presented to the City Administration and to directors of vocational institutes. Finnish companies operating in St Petersburg discussed the apprenticeship contract issues with the City Committee and city employment officers. The Finnish model was accepted as an effective model to be adopted by the city. A vocational institute was visited by representatives of Finnish companies.

St Petersburg Business Campus project bench learning event in St Petersburg, 14 April 2010
A benchlearning workshop devoted to collaboration with the city authorities was organized jointly together with the Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade (CEDIPT) and the St Petersburg International Business Association for Northwest Russia (SPIBA). St Petersburg as a city of high economic potential was presented by representatives of the CEDIPT and Committee for Energy and Engineering. Foreign companies operating in St Petersburg, the city administration and leading experts in the mentioned areas participated in the discussions.

St Petersburg Business Campus project bench learning events in St Petersburg, 1-2.12.09
Two bench learning workshops devoted to logistics and quality management issues were organized within the Days of Finland at the St Petersburg University of Economics and Finance, 1-2 December 2009. Finnish companies that operate in St Petersburg, the city administration and leading experts in the mentioned areas participated in the discussions. The project Steering Committee was organized same time. See programme.
St Petersburg Business Campus project recruitment event in St Petersburg, 1.12.09
Finnish companies that operate in St Petersburg discussed the recruitment issues with the City Committee for Labour and Employment, Committee for Higher Education and Science and city employment officers. The event was organized in the framework of the Days of Finland at the St Petersburg University of Economics and Finance.
Project kick-off meeting
The project kick-off meeting was organized in St. Petersburg on 30 September 2009 within the framework of the II St. Petersburg Innovation Forum. Representatives from the St Petersburg City Administration, General Consulate of Finland in St Petersburg, Finnish companies working in St Petersburg and other partner organisations took part in the meeting. The event was aiming at introduction of the partners, discussion of the goals, tasks and activities of the two-year project.
