Activities

The AQM III project enhances expert level Finnish-Russian collaboration and concrete level practical activities including:

  • consultation and practical training meetings on developing quality assurance (QA) and
  • quality control (QC) methods for air quality measurements in St. Petersburg,
  • re-establishing a background monitoring station for the AQM system of St. Petersburg,
  • creating pre-conditions for on-line reciprocal data exchange between background stations in Finland and St. Petersburg as well as
  • enhancing development of utilisation of dispersion modelling.

The focus is on design and implementation of joint activities on quality assurance procedures as well as real case studies with dispersion modelling.

The AQM III concrete activities are implemented under the following thematic components:

I Practical level collaboration on background air monitoring stations and on-line reciprocal information exchange

II Practical level cooperation on developing Quality Assurance/Quality Control system of the AQ monitoring system in St. Petersburg

III Further development of methodology for the air quality assessment by modelling of dispersion of pollutants from stationary and mobile sources

IV Sustaining the project results.
