TECHNOLOGY PARKS IN LITHUANIA

Developing a Technology Park/Business Incubator Concept in Lithuanian Cities

The overall aim of the project is to promote and support innovative entrepreneurship in the cities of Klaipeda and Panevezys by improving the services of existing regional support structures. New business development services will be developed for research-based and technology-oriented small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-up entrepreneurs. On the basis of the successful methodology developed in Tampere Technology Centre Hermia (Hermia Business Development), the project aims at improving in a systematic way the whole set of technology park and business incubator concept, innovation support services and the skills of relevant managers. Tampere Technology Centre Hermia (Hermia Business Development) has developed a good operational model for its Technology Park Concept and Business Incubator Activities including products and services offered to high-tech oriented SMEs.

Klaipeda Regional Development Agency is the project leader and BIF is the Finnish coordinator of the project. Project is financed by PHARE CBC Small Project Fund (Lithuania).
