Public communication: public media, experiential design and welfare technology
Odense Municipality was in charge of arranging the seventh joint seminar and study visit 22-24 November 2011 in Denmark. The three-day seminar was attended by 43 participants representing all the eleven project partner organizations.
In the seminar participants were discussing challenges of public communication, cooperation and interaction between public administration and local media, as well as inclusion of citizens in design and development of public services.
Mr. Jimmy Kevin Pedersen, Head of Divison, National IT and Telecom Agency, Denmark gave an comprehensive overview about Danish Government e-services and e-participation tools implementation plans and also challenges in this path, connected to age, income and cultural background. Cooperation between local media and the Odense Municipality was presented by Mr. Jacob Vestergaard, Communication Consultant, Odense Municipality.
Partners shared their experiences and good practices on public communication and how to make municipality visible, audible in the community and how to inspire citizen for co-creation. Mr. John Kerry introduced good practices of cooperation with the local media and utilization of social media for public communication in the Kerry County Council in Ireland
