BIF at Music & Media conference in Tampere on 20-23 October 2011
BIF was actively contributing to this year’s Music & Media conference in Tampere on 20-23 October 2011. BIF has been contributing also to earlier Music & Media conferences and their Baltic Sea region –related contents through its Klub Tampere and Bridge Builders projects.
This year, BIF co-hosted “Meet Estonia” event organized by Tallinn Music Week and European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011 in connection with the conference on 21 October.
An ESF-funded project “Bridge Builders” lead by Lahti University of Applied Sciences and partnered by BIF was also promoted in the conference by creative industry sales and export agents trained in the project.
Furthermore, BIF hosted an international networking event of Mobile Backstage, an emerging Finnish multi-service communications platform for bands and their fans, at BIF on 21 October.

Music & Media (Musiikki & Media in Finnish) is the annual Finnish music conference that gathers together over 700 delegates yearly including the entire variety of the Finnish recording, publishing, live music and media industries. In addition to bringing together the Finnish music community, the event is also a gateway for the international music industry professionals to Finland and the neighbouring regions; some 100 key delegates from all over the world make their way to Tampere every year for a weekend of music and mingling in an intimate Nordic setting. Music & Media Finland is the networking hotspot connecting Finnish and Nordic as well as Baltic and Russian music professionals with the global music community.
