Leningrad Region Administration visited Tampere on 7-8 May 2007
Leningrad Region Administration visit was organised by the Baltic Institute of Finland in collaboration with City of Tampere, Tampere Polytechnic - University of Applied Sciences and Administration of Leningrad Region on 7-8 May 2007. The main part of the visit was a high-level meeting organised in Tampere City Central Office Building, which gathered regional and municipal authorities of Tampere Region and Leningrad Region.
The meeting provided an overview on forecasting, financial and strategic planning of regional social and economic development in Tampere Region. Russian delegation presented the socio-economic development of different districts of Leningrad Region. Good practices of Finnish administrative system as well as opportunities for Finnish-Russian regional cooperation were also introduced and discussed.
The Mayor of Tampere City, Timo P. Nieminen, personally greeted the participants of the Leningrad Region Administration delegation and expressed the readiness of Tampere for future cooperation.
