eCitizen 2.0 - First Preparation Seminar, 11 Dec. 2007
The project “Challenge of eCitizen – Promoting eGovernment Actions in European Cities" was finalized in the end of 2007. The concrete results and strong will of the project partners to continue the well-established cooperation encouraged to start planning a new phase in interregional collaboration on eGovernement actions.
The seminar "eCitizen 2.0 - First Preparation Seminar" was organised on 11 December 2007 in Brussels. The seminar was organised by Challenge of eCitizen project and Union of the Baltic Cities Commission on Information Society (UBC IS Com).

Pietarin IT-markkinat - haasteita ja mahdollisuuksia, 29.11.2007
Aamiaisseminaari loi katsauksen Pietarin IT -markkinoiden nykyiseen tilanteeseen sekä esitteli yritysten omakohtaisia kokemuksia liiketoiminnan laajentamisesta Venäjälle. Tilaisuus tarjosi erinomaista tietoa kaikille niille, jotka ovat kiinnostuneet yritystoiminnan aloittamisesta tai laajentamisesta Venäjälle, erityisesti Pietariin lähitulevaisuudessa.
Seminaarin järjesti Suomen Itämeri-instituutti osana Pietarin kaupungin ja Suomen liikenne- ja viestintäministeriön tukemaa hanketta “Enhancing eGovernment Development in St. Petersburg with Innovational Technological Cooperation”.

Entrepreneurship Days tour to Estonia for Tampere region SMEs
Tallinn, Tartu, Narva, 3–5 October 2007
The Baltic Institute of Finland in cooperation with Tampere Chamber of Commerce, Tallinn City Enterprise Board, Tartu City Administration and Narva City Administration organised Entrepreneurship Days tour to Estonia. The main purpose of the Entrepreneurship Days tour was to facilitate partnership relations between Finnish and Estonian companies.

AQM II - international workshop on air quality cooperation in the BSR, 22 August 2007
AQM II organised an international workshop on 22 August to discuss needs and opportunities for air quality monitoring and measurement related cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region. The workshop has attracted the interest of several Finnish cities as well as St. Petersburg, Russia, Vilnius, Lithuania and Tartu and Tallinn, Estonia, and is first of its kind in Finland.
Before the workshop an international seminar session took place on 21 August, where representatives of each country presented their current policies and future visions for international air quality cooperation.
These events have been organised as part of Lappeenranta Air Pollution Prevention Days, which takes place on 21-22 August. The events have received support from the Finnish Ministry of the Environment.

Ideasta hankkeeksi - seminaari kansainvälisen hankevalmistelun tueksi, 16.3.2007
Ajankohtainen "Ideasta hankkeeksi" -seminaaripäivä tarjosi tietoa hankeideoiden työstämiseen. Tilaisuudessa kokeneet projektinvetäjät antoivat vinkkejä hankevalmisteluun ja asiantuntijat esittelivät erilaisia EU:n rahoitusohjelmia. Iltapäivän teemakohtaisissa ryhmissä keskusteltiin kiinnostavista hankeaihioista asiantuntijoiden johdolla. Hanketeemoina olivat mm. aluekehitys, innovaatiot ja oppiminen.
Tilaisuuden järjestivät Suomen Itämeri-instituutti ja Tampereen eOppimisen klusteri yhteistyössä Pirkanmaan kv-verkoston, Teknologiakeskus Hermian ja Tampereen yliopiston tutkimuspalveluiden kanssa.

New information society cooperation opportunities for Baltic cities, 6 March 2007
The Commission on Information Society of the Union of the Baltic Cities organized a seminar "New programming period 2007–2013 - New information society cooperation opportunities for Baltic cities " in the premises of Finland’s Permanent Representation in Brussels on 6 March 2007.
The main goal of the seminar was to bring together representatives of UBC member cities to discuss new EU financing opportunities for European cooperation on information society development, and to present an outlook on the recent development of IS performance in Russia, especially in St. Petersburg. The seminar was organized as a part of the cooperation project “The UBC Commission on Information Society (UBC IS COM). Promoting Information Society in the Baltic Sea Region.”

Finnish IT Security Show, 7 February 2007
The Baltic Institute of Finland organized a "Finnish IT Security Show" event in the premises of General consulate of Finland in St. Petersburg. The event brought to St. Petersburg top-level Finnish IT companies specializing on security to introduce their activities to Russian companies and to find possible cooperation partners. The event was organised as a part of the cooperation project "eSt. Petersburg II".
