I am responsible for BIF activities in Helsinki as the branch manager. I am also co-managing the BSR InnoShip project.
I have coordinated international projects for many years, including EU FP5 and Central Baltic Programme projects (e.g. ShipNODep) and public-private partnership projects. I have a Ph.D. in meteorology and physical oceanography from the University of Stockholm (2002) and an adjunct professorship at the University of Helsinki. Before joining BIF in February 2011, I worked for several years as a head of group at Finnish Meteorological Institute and among other responsibilities as the national contact point towards the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, as well as as the professional secretary for the national marine R&D&I strategy development. Having managed development of European level information services, I have acquired the ITIL Service Manager qualification.
I will be actively looking for networks and means to further develop the Baltic and European innovation areas, in particular related to maritime and information service innovations.
